There is a before and after to the disintegration of the economy. The before was the rudimentary and describable state which is often assumed to be the present state. In fact, there is very little description of an economic transition occurring.

A business is hypothetically the selling and buying of products and services with a profit. The present economic mess is usually evaluated in those terms, while nothing resembling that state usually exists.

This complex subject needs to be described in "bits and pieces." One of the bits and pieces is that labor is now viewed as an expense that can be whittled down, as Musk tried to do to save money with his new endeavor.

Another major factor is the transition from production to financialization. Financialization means diversification, mergers and investments as part of the income enhancing process.

Not usually visible as part of the transforming process is the need for incompetents to surround themselves with like-minded persons to prop up their psychological need for security in addition to trying to find someone who knows what they are doing.

What should be visible in those and additional trends is incompetent corrupters taking over all sources of power and trying to adapt what they are doing to their stupidity. It never works, while the economy gets destroyed in the process.

Examples are needed; and one of the best examples lies at the starting point of the process of transitioning the economy into its present form. It was the yuppies of Reagan years that set the example for the transition.

Yuppies, or at least the model example, took form as stock brokers on Wall Street who went from hired employees to some sort of partners in the business, as their incomes multiplied including multimillion dollar bonuses. All of a sudden there was a huge group of persons with nothing more to do with excess wealth than pave the streets of New York in gold. That's what yuppie meant.

The transition to the present economy still follows that model system, as endless wannabes try to fit into that pattern. Reagan set that standard as the new goal in place of structured businesses with the old fashioned purposes.

Creating a "new normal" was the stated purpose of the Reaganites. The old normal consisted of social structures. The goal of Reagan type conservatives was to replace ordered existence with outflow of motives with no impingements.

Freedom is the first concern of conservatives. Freedom, to them, means no demands placed upon them. That's why the first purpose of Reaganite conservatives was to get the government off their backs. The government creates the largest accumulation of demands upon society.

What then is business with no demands placed upon the administrative elements and incompetent power mongers trying to exploit society? That's what the economy has transitioned into.
