Totalitarianism is the direction that corruption always leads to in the attempt to remove obstacles to imposing corruption onto everyone. Calling it autocracy, as the media is doing, soft-soaps the process.

Totalitarianism is whim replacing rationality. Corrupters hate rationality, because it exposes them as incompetent corrupters; so they assume whims are the solution to their problems.

Rationality is alignment upon the objective realities of the universe that define life and solutions to problems. Assuming that the objective realities of the universe can be ignored results in chaos replacing ordered existence.

Why not chaos? Chaos is the absence of ordered complexities. Just what corrupters want, except they expect to party after destroying ordered existence. There are no cafes, booze or automobiles without ordered existence.

But worse are the conflicts created in depriving everyone else of existence without order. Totalitarians can't grasp why anyone would care, because part of the process is to hog everything for themselves. So they can't imagine why everyone wouldn't have more of everything after replacing ordered existence with chaos.

That's because corrupters assume exploitation of someone else's accomplishments is actually their own accomplishments. It's similar to assuming stealing is creating. It's a methodology that destroys everything and creates conflicts doing so.
