So-called artificial intelligence cannot evaluate science. In fact, it does not evaluate. Yet it is promoted as similar to human intelligence in accomplishing results.

The latest version scrapes the internet for information; but science is not on the internet to be scraped. Science is largely in the form of tables and graphs which require human intelligence to evaluate. The same of engineering.

Scientists do not explain tables and graphs in detail, because five hundred years of evolved scientific knowledge is required to evaluate science. Scientists do their own evaluating for that reason.

Remove science and engineering from the fake claims of artificial intelligence and the whole subject is a joke. Yet the claimed "generative" artificial intelligence is supposed to be on it's way to producing superior intelligence to humans.

Fake imagery is being combined with the process, but artificial imagery is not intelligence and has no use beyond criminality and scandals.

The only form of the new (generative) artificial intelligence that has been produced is the "large, language model." Language is not a source of intelligence. It's only a method of expression. Yet it is the only thing on the internet to be scraped; so the whole process is stuck with language.

The entertainment industry is concerned, because method of expression is a large part of what entertainment is. But how far is entertainment going to go in the absurd purpose of exploring the galaxies?

What the whole subject of so-called artificial intelligence shows is the need for fakery by incompetent power mongers in taking over the social structures and converting them into power structures for their personal gain at everyone else's expense.

A lot of computer functions are improved with more data storage. But no one has been so audacious as to hijack the electrical industry to increase storage space as they did using the pretext of producing "generative artificial intelligence."

The fakes pretend that the new artificial intelligence is going to improve everything complex that computers do. That subject is usually called automation technology. It's how a lot of industries operate now days. More data storage can often improve automation technology, particularly in medicine and related complexities. But it is still automation technology, not an increase in intelligence resulting from scraping the internet to produce generative language.

If computers can scan cancer cells faster than humans, it's not an increase in intelligence and nothing scraped off the internet is going to show how to evaluate cancer cells without narrowly defined instructions, which is not what scraping the internet does.

The primary fraud in the recent propaganda on the wonders of artificial intelligence is portraying the designing of instructions as being the same thing as generative artificial intelligence. It takes human analysis and input to create instructions, not scraping the internet for information that is not there.

The human creation of instructions is the same old automation technology that it has always been for several decades. Only the absurd warehouses of servers is different; but can that equipment be used for automation technology after it has been designed for generative language? It seems absurd; but since nothing is being revealed to the public, the absurd is being exploited to promote fakery.

Synthesizing images has been added to the brew. It's not quite the same thing as scraping language. Only technical specialists would know the difference; but there has to be a lot of difference between designing images and scraping language.

Creating instructions for computers to follow is called automation technology; and that process is vastly different from scraping language for information.

It is said that AI provides good travel information. But travel information can be produced at a cost of nothing compared to the trillions of dollars to be spent on AI. Who is supposed to pay those trillions of dollars? The cost of electricity is increasing already for the elderly and needy.

Addendum

The new form of artificial intelligence has to be viewed in terms of sociology rather than technology. As technology it is nothing but arbitrary instructions which point in some direction and applies statistical probabilities (quasi averaging) to recorded literature. As sociology, it's overwhelmingly expense and lied about.

The degree of imagination that is applied to technology is directly related to the amount of fraud needed to promote it. It's an absence of knowledge that allows imagination to replace objective reality. The promoters of preposterous futurism are know-nothings.

Yet the sociology is overwhelming. To understand the sociology, it's necessary to realize how artificial intelligence is built upon the frauds of so-called renewable energy. No one could miss the fact that renewables are putting huge amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, nor the inability of renewables to meet electrical energy demands, which means ulterior motives drive the propaganda.

It's the same ulterior motives picking up where renewables left off in using artificial intelligence as fake technology. The more preposterous, the more effective for ulterior motives, as preposterousness disconnects from the objective realities that show the harmfulness.

What the fakery shows is that incompetent power mongers need fake technology to exploit; and it needs to be detrimental to society to give incompetents an advantage, where rationality not only leaves them out of the process but exposes them as the incompetent corrupters that they are.

Nothing meets those requirements like absurd technology. It burdens everyone but the super rich with energy and financial problems, which gives incompetent power mongers an advantage over everyone else.
