The socialization of fantasy was the image of the original Nazism in its claim of creating an Arian race through genocide. The fakery of the image needed to be as extreme as the corruption being rationalized. Rationalizing doesn't need to be credible, when incompetent power mongers are using force and violence to impose their corruption onto society.

The tragedy is that producing carbon free transportation and brining the manufacturing back to produce it is no more credible than producing an Arian race; but it is the official fantasy being imposed by incompetent power mongers who eliminated all opposition to their destructive frauds.

Why go the Mars? Why not set up operations in the Sahara Desert which has more water, resources and oxygen than Mars? Because fantasy and futurism are needed as a fake image for incompetent power mongers destroying energy and transportation systems.

You say no one has anything to gain by destroying energy and transportation systems. No one has anything to gain from any corruption; but corruption is that way. It's an attempt to acquire power by incompetents who are disconnected from objective reality and need fraud to overwhelm the rationality that exposes them as the corrupters that they are.

The measure of fascism and its extreme form as Nazism is in the socialization of corruption. Socialization means real purposes have been obliterated and replaced with corruption being rationalized through fantasy.

Socialization of corruption occurs when no criticism is allowed. Know-nothings are used in journalism to impose the frauds onto everyone, so they aren't expected to explain their claims, while they use quips such as "on par with coal" and "carbon free" to block rationality.
