Propaganda is an indication of covert corruption. Covert is more insidious and destructive than overt. Trump's absurdities are so overt that a degree of counter-reality was produced, where even the mainstream media eventually admitted that Trump is a threat to democracy. But the mainstream media is nowhere near admitting that fake science and technology are destroying the social structures, economy and competitiveness of industries. And now a fake economy is falling into the same pattern of propaganda as the fake science and technology.

So there are two factors that need to be unraveled: the absurdity of the propaganda and the resulting consequences.

The extremely obvious frauds of fake science and technology are described elsewhere. They are mathematically and scientifically provable, while real science has no effect upon the propaganda. The total resilience to obvious truth shows the degree of social control, as well as media control, that has overcome the social order.

The economic propaganda is more superficial and less science based; but the social examples are in the provability area. Debt is skyrocketing, housing is untouchable, medical expenses are bankrupting and the breakout of union activity is desperation, not a glorious product of Democracy.

The contrasting absurdities show the nature of the forces. Journalists are adamant that the economy has never been better. Because? Nonsense with no explanation. The need to use a nonsensical 3.9% unemployment number shows that there is nothing else in the labyrinth of economics that can be used to show evidence of for the claims.

What that degree of propaganda shows is the depth of the fascism. Fascism is a source of power for incompetents who desperately cling to power which has no legitimacy. The corruptness of power generated through fascism requires fake rationalizations as propaganda.
