Biological evolution shows how ordered formations allow increasing complexity. Life can be defined as ordered complexity and death as disordered complexity.

Similarly, social structures allow increased complexity, while absence of social structures eliminates complexities. A breakdown of social structures is resulting in disorder as inability to manage complexities.

That result is occurring because of incompetent power mongers taking over the social structures and converting them into power structures for their personal gain at everyone else's expense. That result wasn't due to a plan or purpose but reductionistic reactions to complexities which incompetents could not manage.

Corruption begins when rationality overwhelms incompetents and they decide to be winners by prevailing through domination, which requires force and violence to overwhelm rational constructivity.

To prevent rationality from placing demands upon themselves and making them losers by exposing them as the incompetent corrupters that they are, corrupters need to eliminate the complexities that rationality produces.

Corrupters don't know they are destroying ordered existence in eliminating complexities; so they assume they will have more of everything instead of less in destroying the complexities or ordered existence produced through rational constructivity.

The stripping of ordered existence from government and replacing it with the whims of a ruler is called totalitarianism, which has been recognized as a nonfunctional process for managing the complexities of modern existence. Yet corrupters have been sanctimoniously trying to achieve that result as if it were an improvement. They assume that nothing should stand in the way of promoting their motives through whims including governmental laws.

Regan said, government is the problem. So Reaganites started the process of eliminating critical laws as so-called deregulation. They said they were getting rid of eighty years of liberalism gone awry which was forcing them to fight their war with one hand tied behind their backs.

What war? Corrupters are fighting a war against the universe and blaming enemies for creating their problems. Attacking rationality is fighting a war against the universe, because rationality is alignment upon the objective realities of the universe that define life and solutions to problems.
