Social stratification is artificially contrived by incompetent power mongers to justify their domination. As they rationalize their corruption as worthiness, they convince themselves that their claims are laws of existence, as rationalizing tends to do.

That means the social stratification is inverted in terms of worthiness; but there would not be such a thing as social stratification without corruption. Rationality aligned upon objective realities does not produce social layering, because the influence of persons is supposed to disappear in relation to the objective realities of the universe that define life and solution to problems.

Corrupters acquire self-centeredness as incompetent losers trying to be winners through domination. Self-centeredness is only possible due to a disconnect from objective reality which removes complexities from realities and reduces existence to a few realities that corrupters bump into around themselves.

Since their worthiness is rationalized in conflict with objective reality, corrupters need to do a lot of work to contrive the fraud of their worthiness. Having the universe working against them including their victims, corrupters tell themselves that they must get rid of the unworthies as the solution to society's problems, which starts as their war against the lower classes and eventually results in genocide.

Corrupters believe that genocide is necessary for social improvement, as they transpose their problem onto society. They assume the whole social order is up against the same forces they encounter in trying to impose their incompetence onto everyone through domination. Since they can never succeed, they assume exterminating the misfits is the only solution to social problems.

Since getting rid of enemies seems to be the solution to problems for corrupters, they assume it must be the solution to problems for all of society. That means there is that background smog to everything corrupters do in their attempts to re-align the social order around the worthies getting rid of the misfits.

Corrupters rationalize by finding parallel realities such as evolution creating survival of the fittest. They transplant that concept onto their concept of worthiness and tell themselves they wouldn't be superior persons if they weren't the fittest.
