Fraud prevails because it is simple, while rationality is complex. More basically, rationality is viewed as nonsense by corrupters, because it contains too much abstract reality, while corrupters depend upon what they bump into to determine what reality is.

Rationality is alignment upon the objective realities of the universe that define life and solutions to problems. Knowledge is required, which is abstract construction to simplify complexities to manageable form. It takes a lot more than bumping into objects to determine what the abstractions consist of.

Corrupters say, seeing is believing, because information in abstract form is nonsense to them. They assume the process of producing rationality is an attempt by losers to gain an advantage through contrivance.

Truth is a product of rationality. Truth is the communicated representation of unified reality. Unified reality is all reality that consistently relates to the laws of the universe. There is no substitute that is significant or relevant. Promoting substitutes is fraud.

Rationality produces truth by showing relationships between realities. Consistent relationships are reinforced; and conflicting relationships are weakened. The resulting truth cannot be defied if significantly developed. But that result is assumed by corrupters to be an unfair attack through trickery rather than an essential process.

Corrupters believe in their corruption, because they know nothing else. It makes them winners, which is proof in their assumptions for validity and worth.

Winning is the test of worth to corrupters, because in gives them power, as if there were no wrong or corrupt method of winning. But they make themselves winners by using force and violence to dominate to prevail against other persons.

Corrupters assume that prevailing against other persons will solve their problems, while it creates their problems. Their failures are assumed to be due to opponents attacking them rather than corruption resulting in failures.

Domination is the basis of all corruption, because no one can function constructively being dominated by corrupters. That means corruption as destructivity. Destructivity is definable corruption, because it doesn't get corrupters where they expect to get. They assume they can solve their problems and produce more of something they want through their domination to make themselves winners, while they disconnect from objective reality and create conflicts with the laws of the universe.

The use of force and violence prevails over rationality when corrupters conspire to create power through numbers. Rationality is vulnerable to being overrun by corrupters because of its complexity in using the communication process to explain relationships between realities. Communication is easily obliterated through force and violence.

So rational persons evolved social structures over the past five thousand years or so to organize human activities around constructivity and prevent destructivity. But corrupters take over the social structures and convert them into power structures for their personal gain at everyone else's expense.
