The Threat To Democracy

August 4, 2024

Democracy is far more than voting. Dictators get elected all the time. Hitler was elected, after every real politician fell to the wayside. Then he hung his political opponents several times until there were none. Then his bunch burned down the Reichstag to eliminate legislative interference. It took a lot of work to get rid of democracy, which shows that there is a lot to democracy.

Trump has been trying to eliminate bureaucratic and legislative interference with his one-man rule, such as forcing the Justice Department to get rid of his opponents. After he lost his second election, twenty three states created quasi Jim Crow laws to make sure conservatives never lose another election. From time immemorial, the lower classes stand in line for up to ten hours for voting with no time off from work, while the upper classes walk in and out with time off from work. That includes Democratic years, not just conservative years. Supposedly, the lower classes can't afford the same level of voting facilities, while there is no price too high to pay for imperialism.

Those threats to democracy are not mechanisms; they are purposes that go with incompetent corrupters taking over social structures. The number one factor that drives corrupters with power is their war against rationality, because rationality exposes them as the incompetent corrupters that they are.

Rationality is alignment upon the objective realities of the universe that define life and solutions to problems. What then do incompetent power mongers align upon? They use domination to prevail in making themselves winners, which does not require the competence of aligning upon objective realities.

Not aligning upon objective realities leaves a self-destructive state of existence. It eliminates ordered existence, which means social structures made of laws, rules and regulations. Personal whim replaces ordered existence.

Corrupters usually lie about their purposes and standards pretending to be the champions of democracy and justice while doing the opposite, such as having corporations burn two or three trillion tax dollars, which they didn't need and poured into stock buy-backs which were illegal, until the Reaganites threw out critical laws as so-called deregulation, as Reagan said "government is the problem." Then when Democrats are in power the real purpose of conservatives shows up, as they try to cut social programs to balance the budget. Conservatives go through that cycle every four or eight years, as administrations shift back and forth between Democrats and conservatives.

But pretending is too complex for Trump, as he shows us openly what corruption is all about. He openly tries to reduce government to his absolute control and allows no one around himself to have any other purpose than supporting his power. Power to do what? He doesn't know—just to impose whims that change minute by minute.

The thing to notice in that is that corrupters do not allow any impositions upon themselves, either from other persons or from laws or social structures. That's because of their personal problems related to incompetence and the need to be winners. Eliminating all impositions is the only purpose of corrupters. What happens afterwards is erratic and unevaluated. When it leads to self-destruction, enemies are blamed. Since that standard always leads to self-destruction, a constant war against enemies is how their methodology works.

What then does tearing down social structures, government and laws while replacing them with erratic whims and wars against enemies have to do with democracy? You wouldn't know it has anything to do with democracy from the journalism, as if it were a political alternative. It was the January 6 insurrection that clued them into the democracy problem, not the tactics of conservatives.

So the problem gets back to the definition and purpose of democracy, which is people controlling their own lives. They found that government and laws are needed to set limits on corruption. Yet corrupters assume that government, laws and impositions are some sort of a plot to destroy the social order.

Reagan said, if you need to explain, you are already a loser. He assumed that being a winner is the purpose in life and rationality is for fools. Rationality requires explanation of claims. For corrupters to be winners, they need domination to replace rationality, which means stripping ordered existence from society and replacing it with nonsensical whims of incompetent destroyers.
