The self-driving mentality is so ridiculous and dangerous that self-driving should never have been considered. But since it was, it shows a lot about the nature of social corruption.

Driving is approximately the most demanding thing most persons do. It is taught that way. Awareness, alertness and judgement are the demanding requirements. To assume computers could produce awareness, alertness and judgement is being ridiculous and dangerous.

Meeting the demands of self-driving is so impossible that little more than following a white line is being used. Even stopping at stop signs cannot be done with proper braking, because machines cannot do gradient braking and never will. Instead, self-driving primarily relies upon reduced engine speed for slowing down. But that process does not totally eliminate the need for braking; and then braking cannot be done properly, because computers cannot do gradient braking and never will.

Gradient braking is different each time brakes are used for many reasons. Each different velocity changes the requirements due to variations in inertia. Computers cannot relate inertia to braking, because braking has too many variables and inertia cannot be measured. An opposing force is needed to determine inertia; and an opposing force cannot be applied to a vehicle.

Then braking varies with frictional resistance, which is constantly changing, as brake linings wear and acquire grime on the surface including moisture, as does street and tire friction. So humans feel and see the results of braking and adapt to it, which computers cannot do.

Another ridiculous problem is that self-driving cannot evaluate most lights, because motion changes the location and size. As lights change, computers cannot determine if it is the same light that is in a different position. Humans can determine what the same light (or object) is while it moves, but a computer cannot, particularly when blinking on and off.

Not the least problem is that a camera would need twenty to fifty frames per second, depending upon speed, to determine how change occurs with motion. That means everything involved in driving must be re-evaluated twenty to fifty times per second, while algorithms indicate how to respond to infinite variables twenty to fifty times per second. The amount of computer space will never exist; and no programmers are capable of evaluating what all of the responses must be for the infinite variables that occur during motion.

Those are just a few of the reasons why so-called self-driving does little more than follow a white line and stop at highly evaluated stop signs. And that's why some of the automotive companies discontinued their project for self-driving. The companies with the most experience with automobiles discontinued self-driving, while the ones with no experience plow forward.

Why did it take a lot of bad experiences to show the obvious problems with self-driving? Why couldn't anyone with half a brain see what the problems were going to be from the beginning? The mentality shows how incompetents have taken over the social order and imposed their ignorance and corruption onto everyone.

The mentality of imposing absurdities onto society shows up in the background frauds of science and technology, such as the pretense that computers are similar to human minds. Computers require clocks as high frequency square waves plus switching mechanisms which have multiple alternatives for directing signals in various ways.

So frauds pretend that neurotransmitter junctions do that. They do nothing resembling that. They do not use clocks; and they do not have multiple alternatives for switching. In fact, the real function of neurotransmitters is to tune sensitivity up and down, not to switch signals on and off. But incompetent frauds have not been evaluating and describing neurotransmitters as having a sensitivity-tuning function, in spite of mind altering drugs which clearly show that result.

So the net effect is that incompetent power mongers have been trying to wish impossible solutions into existence through complex technology which has no ability to do what is required. The fake science and technology that is destroying energy and transportation systems shows the mentality; but propagandists keep pretending that the solutions are in the future.

Any idiot could add up the simple math and determine that the fake technology costs more than it is worth. Large windmills cost more than the value of the electricity they produce. The transmission lines cost as much as the sources when about 300 miles in length. And then, every dollar spent and every molecule humans set in motion puts carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The more the expense, the more the carbon dioxide, while frauds claim the result is carbon free.

What it shows is motives for corruption. Why? Because incompetent power mongers need fraud to monger power. Rationality exposes them as the corrupters that they are, while fraud destroys the rationality.
