The Sanctimoniousness Of Evil

September 11, 2022

The more destructive corruption is, the more sacred it is portrayed as in attempting to counter opposition.

Evil is promoted and rationalized as sanctimonious necessity, such as the Nazi claim of purifying a fake Aryan race. That's because the extremeness of rationalizing must compensate for the extremeness of the evil. Sanctimoniousness replaces rationality by negating all criticism in a subjective manner.

Corrupters assume they are the reference for rightness in promoting values and purposes in life. They assume criticism is divisive, hostile and unfair.

This is what we see in the attempts to deal with the fascism being promoted by conservatives. Anything goes in perpetrating fraud and destructivity such as "the big lie," while opposition is the only problem.

Of course, corrupters know they are lying and destroying; but that is irrelevant to the point. The only thing that matters to them is prevailing with their values and purposes. Lying for their purpose is a virtue, not a wrong, because it is how they promote the only acceptable standards in their assumptions.

To understand the absurdities, it is necessary to view the surrounding factors that shape the assumptions of corrupters. First and foremost is a disconnect from objective reality. Objective reality defines the real right-from-wrong, because the laws of the universe create and define life and determine what the causes and solutions to problems are. Erase all of that and something else determines right-from-wrong.

The only thing left after erasing the universe is self. Corrupters are totally self-centered. That means right-from-wrong is determined by their values and purposes. If they need to destroy everyone who opposes them to promote their values and purposes, then doing that is assumed to be the right thing to do.

Normally, people learn right-from-wrong as something determined external to themselves, not something they can defy. The lessons of life show what is required to sustain life by solving problems and the result that occurs from destructivity.

How could corrupters miss the lessons of life? By being disconnected from objective reality. The only lesson they learn is that to win is to prevail, which requires power over other persons. They believe in that ethic.

That purpose in life—to prevail in promoting self—was instituted as the official social standard by the Reaganites in 1981. They called it "a new normal." Normal is supposed to be determined by the laws of the universe. Corrupters want normal to be determined by themselves in their purpose of prevailing over all others.

Innate superiority is their attitude. They assume their ethic is innately ingrained in their purpose of prevailing, because they have no other concept of what would determine right-from-wrong. And since normal persons, by previous concepts, disagree with them, the concept of normal needs to be changed, in their view.

And they succeeded. The official purpose in life shifted from laws of the universe determining normal to the purpose of corrupters in prevailing being normal. Of course, rational persons never agreed; but the new normal continued to prevail over rationality for the past forty years culminating in the fascism that is overthrowing democracy.
