Problems create unmeetable demands for incompetent corrupters. The solution they seek to their problems resulting from incompetence is to acquire the power to dominate and prevail. A government of laws is designed to prevent that from happening.

Trump had that problem and the supposed solution—how to acquire the power to dominate and prevail. He expected to solve the world's problems by acquiring the power to dominate and prevail. With that purpose, Trump's power was a major threat to democratic government based on laws, social structures and standards based on rationality.

The background problem always existed. There wasn't something that went wrong or could have been done differently to change the minds of Trump's followers. There wasn't a transformation or recent development that caused half of society to go off the rails and vote for a totalitarian fascists.

Trump's followers would have done the same thing anytime the option was available as shown by the fact that more than seventy million persons voted for Trump after four years of watching him destroy the government, social structures and economy.

The only thing that changed was the availability of the option. Trump created a clearer option than anyone else. There was a political transition that put him in power but not a transition that created his followers; they were always there. They could have been supporting Nero centuries ago.

How Trump acquired power was a slow and gradual political transformation which conservatives started in 1981 (The March To Fascism). But the options available to voters were never so clear. Trump created a highly visible alternative.

The group that supported Trump was always there visible only to the lower levels of society. Vulnerable persons were always dealing with ignorant bigots oppressing them. Persons who were well off could not see what was happening.

Irrational bigots do not function competently where there is an ordered society. They want the conditions changed to something that allows them to prevail. Only disordered existence meets their requirements, as social structures and laws create obstacles to their way of doing things.

Trump promoted that standard as shown by the fact that he broke every law that got in his way in contempt for every effort to prevent it. He showed a purpose of abolishing ordered existence including a government based on laws which were an obstacle to his acquiring the unaccountable and whimsical power of a totalitarian fascist.

Incompetent corrupters are that way. They assume that if they could prevail against other persons it would solve their problems. Social structures, rational government, laws and ordered existence are designed to prevent that from happening.

So corrupters need to reduce the social order to the level of disorder that allows them to prevail against other persons in their quest to be winners. Where there is normalcy they are losers. Trump shows that they are obsessed with being winners, which only occurs because they are losers.

Preventing it from ever happening again is only possible by producing sufficient truth. Truth creates the only force corrupters cannot subdue. Criminal cases against Trump would do no more than put him in the spotlight for another four years and get him elected again. He needs to disappear in the background, not be glorified by a trial.

Producing sufficient truth is a responsibility for everyone including journalists. The answer is not brushing the problem aside and pretending that it never happened.

Truth will not glorify trump as a showcase trial would. Degenerates need a visual medium, not a rationality medium.
