There has never been a war that had a logical reason to occur. When the causes are evaluated they disappear into a quagmire of irrationality.

Therefore, to understand wars it is necessary to understand corruption. The causes of corruption are the causes of wars. Every element of corruption can be seen in the causes of wars.

Perhaps the most relevant factor in the causes of wars is the absence of realities which are replaced by corrupt motives. Rational persons look for relevance in the logic of realities. Corrupters do not. They despise the assumption that realities should be relevant.

When trying to figure out what Trump and followers meant by swamp, it reduced down to anything related to the application of rationality. They wanted a state of existence without realities getting in their way and exposing them for the incompetent corrupters that they are.

When Reagan said government is not the answer, government is the problem, he virtually absolutized the rejection of reality as being relevant. Nothing could contain more developed realities than government. To absolutize the rejection of government is an inseparable concept from rejecting the whole concept of realities being relevant.

To a large extent that is why wars exist. They are an offshoot of an absence of realities in the attempts by incompetent corrupters to solve their problems through force only without realities getting in the way.

Everything that incompetent corrupters do they try to do by stripping away realities to promote motives. That process is the same thing as creating wars at the micro level. Wars at a larger level gradually grow out of the wars at the micro level.

Motives promoted through forces without realities create conflicts and problems for everyone. How could they not? Life is made of realities and requires realities for being sustained. Solving problems is correcting realities. To try to separate any activity from realities is a force acting against life. Yet, it is what corrupters do.
