The extent that corrupters depend upon power to get what they want out of life is determined by their incapabilities. Power is their substitute for capabilities. It allows them to extract what they want without capabilities.

So there is a gradient of power that goes with the gradient of corruption. The use of power by the most extreme degenerates is characterized by terrorism. At the other extreme, the corrupters who have some ability to handle realities align their power upon consensus. So power mongering ranges from terrorism to consensus.

Skipping terrorism and focusing on consensus power, consensus is the power of numbers. The numbers are needed to monger power. Mongering power is not the same thing as counting votes, which is an objectively defined mechanism. (What is usually missed is that social structure and procedures are not supposed to be sources of power but methods of solving problems through rationality applied to objective realities.)

Consensus power is what the nice people use to corrupt the social order. It's what mainstream media consists of, and it's what incompetent scientists depend upon in a more indirect manner.

The manner in which global warming is handled is shaped by consensus power, because the promoters use the word consensus constantly as a justification. Only after journalists instill a concept into the social reality do the incompetent scientists pretend to be verifying the result with fake science.

Just as some journalists justify themselves through consensus, extreme corrupters justify themselves through terrorism. Terorrists always have a litany of complaints that supposedly justify their brutality.

Since consensus is a source of power, the source supposedly justifies the result. Similarly, terrorism is a source of power which supposedly justifies the result. In other words, power is supposedly a justifying result. That standard occurs because power mongers substitute power for constructivity. They assume power is the measure of (if not the source of) truth, knowledge and capabilities.

If power gives corrupters what they want, they can't believe that it is not the highest of achievements. Look at the role models for corrupters. They are glamorized fakes such as Einstein. Power equals achievement for glamorized fakes.

What power does is create the ability to prevail through domination. That's a good thing to corrupters who feel left out due to their incapabilities—that is, incapabilities which are hardened in place due to ignorance which is beyond correcting. Extreme ignorance is buried below endless rationalizations and developed falsehoods. And since knowledge must build upon knowledge, the starting points for knowledge are out of reach for power mongering corrupters.

Power is used to overwhelm. To overwhelm requires force. The net effect is that forces which are numerous enough to overwhelm are needed to monger power.

Therefore, there is a pattern to the use of power which involves overwhelm. Overwhelm is not a proper method of doing things. Power mongers don't look right. They don't go about their task in a justifiable manner. In overwhelming opponents, they are stripping their victims of the right to run their own lives through the use of force and attempting to prevent the victims from defying them.

This standard is, of course, more than visible in the promotion of global warming fraud. Opponents, and society in general, must be overwhelm to impose fraud upon them. First and foremost, that means no criticism is allowed. The incompetent journalists who promote the global warming cause have been insisting that all criticism must be prevented based on the noble purpose of saving mankind from carbon dioxide.

A lot of force is needed to do that. It works, because the mainstream media in general is locked into power mongering by consensus, which requires acquiescing to the demands of power mongers. Power is virtue and powerlessness is corruption to power mongers (which is the definition of bigotry).
