The nonexistent path is what Reagan was trying to sell. He thought it was a superior path and the only realistic path, so he called it "morning in America."

The underlying forces driving conservatives, who are now transforming into fascists, as they succeed in overwhelming government, do not get explained. Supposedly, Trump misled his followers, so they add things up wrong. That's not what has been happening.

What has been happening is that incompetent corrupters are aligning more concertedly upon the nonexistent path which conservatives have sold them as the real, true and correct method of getting where they want to be. The path is portrayed as more realistic than the normalcy path.

That path is of course nothing but plain old, destructive corruption. It perhaps never was viewed as a path until recent conservatives framed it as a path. The purpose of projecting corruption as a path is visible in the conservative quasi philosophy that developed as an offshoot of William Buckley's conservative flap sheet. But it wasn't yet a path in his view; it was more of a set of values.

That set of values, aligned upon the purpose of promoting and exploiting corruption, transformed into a path, as power mongers viewed it from a distance and saw terminology and motives that enhance their purposes. Barry Goldwater wanting to bomb Hanoi added to the enhancement.

The word "conservative" was in itself the most attractive element of the cause. It's a sanctimonious term that can be twisted to justify any form of destructivity. Saving money is the primary method conservatives use to destroy social programs and livelihoods for the needy. Conserving something is supposedly the purpose of political destructivity.

But still, the conservative cause was too disgraceful for Nixon to call himself a conservative. Instead, he was a "strict constructionist" promoting the Constitution the way is was always meant to be. It became a path in the hands of Reagan.

As a path the conservative cause became a clean break from the normalcy of rationality. Reaganites called it "the new normal." They assumed it to be the only realistic way of getting things done. Being superior, it was supposed to replace "eighty years of liberalism gone awry." To conservatives, liberalism is anything other than their way of doing things.

Once the conservative cause became a path rather than a pseudo-philosophy, it had to be taught by example rather than words, as words defeat corrupters. Early on, the words could mean anything; but once a serious path was established, the requirements became more narrowly restrained. So the path had to be taught by example rather than words—that is descriptive words rather than misrepresentation.

To demonstrate the path, Reagan fought a war against one of the smallest countries in the area claiming to be stopping communism. Congress saying it was illegal was just frosting on the cake. It allowed conservatives to practice their wares in defiant contempt.

Fascists still assume they are on the path to success. Their assumptions are not based on realities but values and motives which promote their values. To assume they got something wrong that can be corrected is foolish. They are in a force medium, not a reality medium.

The basic path of corrupters is to impose themselves upon the universe. All measurements of what is right flow out from themselves. Any external impositions are assumed to be the ruination of man, which includes objective reality.

The evil that conservatives are fighting is the respect for objective reality that is visible in rationality. The source of the evil is assumed to be liberalism. A rudimentary logic for that assumption is that if motives don't flow out from oneself, oneself will lose. Being winners is the assumed purpose in life. How can a person succeed if something external prevails over oneself?

There is no other logic to existence that corrupters can comprehend. One of the main reasons is because they always lose where there is rationality. They not only fail to produce rationality, the result of rationality is the power of truth which prevails against them.

Being overwhelmed by rationality in normal human activities creates insecurity for corrupters. They shrink into a bubble of self-centeredness worrying about their incapabilities. The only solution they see is to lash out and prevail against the forces that defeat them. Prevailing becomes their primary pillar of success. It takes domination to prevail. Domination means destroying anyone who thinks otherwise. And it requires destroying anyone who is vulnerable as a test of the cause of prevailing.
