Conservatives want to reduce government to nonexistence. Trump spent four years dismantling government; and conservatives thought it was just great. When they say small government and use deregulation to get there, there is no bottom to it. They want nothing left.

The reason why is because corruption creates a motive for more trivial and less significant on everything. More significant means more complex, while it is complexity that leaves incompetent corrupters out of everything. They can't handle complexities.

Significant is more than complex. Along with complexity, significance requires evaluation to determine the relative importance of each point. Each fact of reality has to be evaluated in relationship to each other point of reality to determine significance.

Perception without evaluation or understanding creates that problem. At the extreme, higher spiritual states increase perception with no increase in understanding or knowledge. So everything looks the same.

Corrupters have that problem at all levels—what they perceive all looks the same. They can't sort out which factors are more significant due to an inability to evaluate and compare differences and similarities. It takes background knowledge to do that. To a large extent corrupters got that way by not acquiring enough background knowledge for the power that they mongered.

So corrupters are trying to simplify, while government does not allow them to do that. Government takes up complexities in trying to deal with problems. Solving problems means understanding all of the complexities and finding solutions. That process leaves incompetent corrupters out and exposes their incompetence and corruptness.

Because of that problem, corrupters want to replace real things with fake things. There is no wrong way to contrive fake reality. Fakery is malleable; real results are not.

Fake energy systems for electrifying transportation is that way. Supposedly, that problem is something liberals promote; but greens are fake liberals doing the same thing as conservatives in mongering power through fake science and technology. The energy companies love the direction renewable energy is going, because they get big contracts, cost plus and subsidized by tax payers, building the stuff and it doesn't have to work afterwards.

A telling example is the size of windmills. The larger windmills get, the less efficient they are, because tip speed of the blades cannot keep increasing, which results in more wind going between the blades and doing nothing as size increases. Yet windmills keep getting larger with no concern for efficiency. Just pay us more and more to put them up and we couldn't care about anything else is the standard.
