What conservatives harp about more than anything else is freedom. Doesn't that seem strange in "the land of the free"? Conservatives mean something strange by freedom. It's like striving for the right to wear shoes. The rest of us don't assume we have a problem with freedom.

Why "own the libs"? Conservatives can't explain why they hate liberals. If they were to clarify, the realities would defeat them. They are trying to promote something that cannot be justified.

Unexplained forces of that sort are promoted subconsciously. There is a lack of discipline in not accounting for self-control through understanding.

A driving force overwhelms the understanding of undisciplined persons who lash out irrationally. The driving force is felt rather than evaluated.

What that driving force consists of was demonstrated more obnoxiously than usual by Trump and his followers. Less visibly, it defines what conservatives are striving for.

Conservatives feel they are being deprived of freedom. They can't explain why, because it is an extremely corrupt assumption. Yet it shapes their version of politics. It causes them to dismantle government and its laws and regulations.

The origins of their problem is found in the definition of corruption. Corruption is a conflict with or disconnect from objective reality. Objective reality is virtually nonexistent for conservatives. So anyone who lives by objective reality is imposing something onto them which is nonexistent in their ability to understand what it is. They feel a force but don't know anything about it.

Since objective reality is totally mysterious to corrupters, they self-righteously assume they can obliterate it from existence. They assume persons who live by objective reality have something wrong with them and are imposing their corruption onto other persons—hence robbing them of their freedom.

To remove objective reality from government is to produce no government at all. Freedom in those terms is nothing more than acting out motives as whims with no directing influences getting in the way.

Corruption is extremely common. Persons who have not developed suitable discipline resort to corruption as a method of coping with inadequacies resulting from conflicts with objective reality. More disciplined persons tend not to.

Therefore, recent/quasi-modern conservatives are those who allow the tendency toward corruption to be promoted as a political solution to their problems. They usually try to reduce the visibility of their moral deficiencies but not Trump and followers, as they see no reason to allow a negative image to stand in the way of imposing of their corrupt standards upon society as an assumed solution to their problems.

Recent/quasi-modern conservatives took over politics in 1981 under the assumption that corruption was a superior form of politics. They called it a "new normal." Reagan called it "morning in America." But they knew they needed to camouflage their corruptions under pretenses of the opposite. They took up anti-abortion as a self-sanctifying moral cause, while they couldn't care less who has abortions. Trumpism was doing away with the pretense of moral propriety or socially acceptable standards which the adherents viewed as limiting their ability to achieve success.
