50 Billion People

The planet could sustain 50 billion people easier than it is sustaining 7 billion, if resources were developed instead of squandered.

Agriculture would be the least of the problems. Feeding beef on alfalfa instead of corn and soybeans would allow ten times as much beef to be produced with the same number of acres as being used for corn. Then the acres could be vastly increased, because alfalfa will grow wherever grass grows.

There is virtually unlimited space in the western world for growing vegetables on hard, fine-textured clay. But incompetents avoid hard clay, because it is easier for them to manage sandy soil.

Hard clay produces infinitely better quality food due to its high capillary action. When hard clay is broken up it still has high capillary action due to its fine texture.

In northern areas, freezing ground releases macromolecules to plants as amino acids and nucleosides from bacteria, which immeasurably improves the quality of food. Store-boughten food is like tasteless wood by comparison.

If drip irrigation were developed for northern areas, the space available for various types of food would be almost unlimited.

There is already a shortage of water developing in many places. Liberals were working on that problem during the seventies, until conservatives took over the world in 1981 and put an end to progressiveness. Two methods of getting water from ice in the Arctic were focused on. One was to move icebergs into bays and surround them with plastic to capture fresh water as they melted. The other method was to melt ice in the Arctic and pipe it south. Nuclear energy could have been used to melt the ice.

Water is being wantonly squandered in the US at this time. The Missouri River is one of the last sources of abundant water. It will unquestionably by polluted by the Dakota Pipeline which goes under it twice instead of going around it. In opposing global warming, demonstrators against the Dakota Pipeline made sure no alternative was considered, which resulted in no solution being produced.

Both Missouri River water and Mississippi River water is being squandered by using it for barging. Barging is an eighteenth century technology which should not exist. It would be cheaper to ship grain from Minneapolis to New Orleans by first class mail than barging when considering the flood damage that results from raising the height of the Mississippi River with mini dams and locks. Whenever a rainstorm strikes the Mississippi River area, flooding occurs, because the increased water cannot get through the dams fast enough.

During dry years, dams along the Missouri River In South Dakota are emptied to provide water for barging along the Mississippi River, which destroys the ecology around the Missouri River in South Dakota.

Fakes are focused on recycling garbage with no logic or benefit resulting from the attempts. There is very little use for recycled plastic. Producing the plastic from oil would result in less waste, pollution and expense. Governments spend huge amounts of money attempting to recycle garbage and failing. The unusable material ends up in the oceans. The reason why the plastic pieces are so small in the oceans is because recyclers chop the plastic into small pieces, so it will pack into shipping containers.

There is not the slightest reason to not bury garbage. Hills created from piled up garbage have useful purposes. Garbage can be prevented from leaching by baling it, which is sometimes being done.

Instead of solving problems, fake technology is wasting resources wantonly. Fake renewable energy requires huge amounts of metal. No one can get past 15% renewables, because fluctuations are too rapid and extreme for back-ups; and the expense of producing more lines is prohibitive.

Nothing wastes resources like electric vehicles. No one is buying electric as their only vehicle because of the extreme limitations. The concept is still a toy for the rich. Even with government subsidies, there is not enough versatility to electric vehicles to meet normal needs.

Why is it always in the future that electric vehicles are going to take off instead of the present? There have been no significant improvements for several years. Chipping away at batteries is never going to be significant, because electrons require too much mass around them for such storage beyond small, specialty products such as electronics.

Energy problems could be solved by using nuclear energy. Incompetents claim they can't handle nuclear energy in a responsible manner. How can they turn lead into gold with renewable energy and electric vehicles, if they can't handle nuclear energy properly?

Could doesn't mean should. The planet will never have more than 10 billion people. It means proper development for 10 billion people would leave more unused space than presently exists.
