Radiation Equals 2%

 

There is very little radiation emitted at normal temperatures—so little that it is usually ignored by engineers in temperature considerations. Yet incompetent scientists convinced the public that radiation is destroying life when it gets trapped by greenhouse gases.

Quack scientists justify their claims of global warming by using the Stefan-Boltzmann constant to calculate radiation. The Stefan-Boltzmann constant shows about 40 times too much radiation being given off by the surface of the earth at the cold, average temperature of the earth, which is said to be 15°C (59°F).

The claim of climatologists, based on the Stefan-Boltzmann constant, is that 79% of the energy leaving the surface of the earth is in the form of radiation—the rest leaving as conduction, convection and evaporation. The amount of radiation should be 2%, not 79%. A white hot light bulb could not emit 79% radiation without a vacuum environment.

Coffee ThermosHere is a method of getting the quantities in proportion: If a coffee thermos is used to keep coffee warm, it might use a vacuum as an insulating environment to prevent heat from leaving through conduction and convection, while a reflective surface stops radiation. If the reflective surface were omitted, so radiation could cool the coffee, it would take about 50 minutes to lose one fourth of the heat through radiation only, while blowing on a significant surface would take 1 minute to lose one fourth of the heat. The ratio would be about 50 to 1.

The surface of the earth has an wind blowing over it which would have an average velocity at least as much as blowing on something to cool it. So it should cool about 50 times faster through conduction and convection than radiation. That means 2% radiation, not 79% radiation.
