How fakery Flows With Power

Power is the usual test of truth. Power links a large group of power mongers together, which looks like a source of truth to gullible persons. "How could all those persons be wrong?" is the perpetual argument of mindless persons. The power of numbers is how they determine truth.

An example is doctors recommending fluoride for teeth. Doctors are not in a position to be recommending anything related to scientific knowledge. Medicine is not science. Medicine and science are at opposite ends of the spectrum of abstract evaluation. A doctor must reproduce what someone else did or said without variation, or it is malpractice. A scientist must question what exists, or it is not science. Those differences create totally different universes of knowledge and how it is handled.

Nonscientists cannot grasp the universe that real science exists in. Undergraduates in science are not in that universe. They are simply reproducing what someone hands them.

In moving from the study of science to the creation of science, graduate students are required to prove their claims. They learn that you cannot prove that water is wet. All scientists can do is add measured evidence to a subject. To do that, a scientist is responsible for every dot of every i that has ever been produced related to a subject at hand. The accumulated knowledge of science is immense. You learn how to skim and look for evidence, significance and relevance while finding clues in what others have found using research literature as the source. You listen to the experts to see where the boundaries of technology lie in producing new methods of measurement. Medical doctors don't acquire that information; they study procedures.

One of the major facts that is missed by nonscientists is that standards of exactness and relevance must exist before knowledge can exist. Guesswork and propaganda are not valid substitutes. Yet it is the guesswork and propaganda that replace real science everywhere. Scientists can generalize and make the best guess possible, just like anyone else, but it is only as good as their reliability, and it can be extended beyond the source and reliability that creates scientific knowledge. The source and application are not the same things in science.

What all of this means is that when know-nothings are imposing themselves onto a subject, the process is not valid, and it looks like fakery. It isn't how knowledge and objective reality are applied to a subject. Instead, it is how power flows through a group that mongers power.

Power flows from person to person. Objective reality does not. Objective reality comes out of the objective universe independent of persons and their subjectivity.

Power increases as it flows from person to person creating the power of numbers. Generating such power is the purpose of persons who promote fakery. They try to amass enough power through consensus to bowl over opponents. The more false their realities, the more effective they are in bowling over critics who must rely upon the correctness of objective reality.

Fake science and technology exist for no other reason. They are a source of power for know-nothings. They aren't promoted as knowledge is promoted through valid standards of rationality but through attacks upon rationality. Nonsense and subjectivity are used as weapons against the rationality which exposes the fakes as the incompetent frauds that they are.

Claiming that renewables are on par with coal is the simplest example that is being used at this time. Similar is the claim that electric vehicles produce zero emissions, which is not relevant to the subject of concern dealing with the amount of carbon dioxide being put into the atmosphere.
