Imposed Ignorance

Imposed ignorance stems from a degree of corruption which disconnects some persons from objective reality. A conflict with objective reality results in a wall being constructed to shield corrupt persons from the impositions of objective reality (largely as truth). Such persons are then "living in a bubble."

Persons who live in a corruption bubble consider themselves to be the reference for existence. They assume anyone who is different from themselves must have something wrong with them. And there is no excuse for being different. If oneself can be the way oneself is, then anyone else can be the way oneself is.

Anyone who has more intelligence than the bubble dwellers is producing "swamp." If bubble dwellers cannot understand something, no one else can either. So producing something which no one can understand is swamp.

Conservatives have been orienting existence around their disgust for swamp for time immemorial without having a word to describe it. Only recently were we given a terminology. Presumably, because Trump is vastly more outspoken than usual did he apply a word for the corruption caused by intelligence calling it swamp. Of course, he picked it up from someone else, but focussing on it tells us what conservatives have been insinuating—that having more intelligence than conservatives have is the root of all evil.

It's what Reagan meant by "morning in American" and "the new normal"—replacing swamp with ignorance.
